Ingredients
  

  • 60 g coarsely ground coffee
  • 1 pc egg
  • 1 l water

Instructions
 

  • Mix together 60 grams of coarsely ground coffee with 1 egg and 60 ml of cold water to make a paste.
  • Bring 1 liter of water to a boil in a pan, then carefully stir in the paste.
  • Let it boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat, add 100 ml of cold water, and let the grounds settle.
  • Strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into cups, then serve.

Some altervative brewing methods:
While you can make egg coffee using a traditional stovetop method, it’s essential to use a coffee maker or kettle that can bring the water to a full boil.
For the smoothest brew, we recommend using a French press for the straining process. This will help you achieve a clean, well-extracted cup of coffee without any excess grounds.
A pour-over method can also work if you’re looking for a more controlled brewing process, but make sure to use a coarser grind to get the best flavor.
 
You can always experiment with variations to suit your personal taste. Here are a few ideas to try:
Add a Dash of Cinnamon or Cardamom: Scandinavians love their spices, and adding a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom to the coffee-egg paste will give the brew an aromatic kick. These spices are a staple in Nordic baking and pair perfectly with the creamy texture of the *egg coffee*.
Sweeten It Up: If you like your coffee a little sweeter, try adding a spoonful of honey or maple syrup before brewing. This will give the coffee a natural sweetness that balances out the rich flavors of the egg and coffee.
